For iPhone, iPad, and Mac

iCryptr

Protect your files with a password.

Encrypt documents, photos, and videos on your device. Open your encrypted copies in iCryptr when you need them.

iOS and iPadOS 18 or later · macOS 15 or later

From file to encrypted copy

  1. Choose a file. Select a document from Files or Finder, or a photo or video from Photos.
  2. Set a password. Give the encrypted copy a name and enter and confirm your password. iCryptr saves a separate .icryptr file.
  3. Open it when you need it. Use iCryptr and your password to decrypt the copy, then save the recovered file where you want it.

Your original stays in its source location. Encrypting a copy does not delete it.

Encryption on your device

iCryptr does not upload your files, passwords, or encryption keys to the developer. No app account is required. The original filename is encrypted inside the .icryptr container and restored when you decrypt it.

If you select or save files through a cloud provider, that provider handles the transfer. Read the Privacy Policy for details about temporary copies, optional thumbnails, and support information.
